German born photographer, Andreas Bleckmann, based in London, spent his formative years on the streets of Manhattan with his 35mm camera.

During this time Bleckmann refined his technical skills in the Photographic studio by assisting various well-established commercial photographers; yet he never lost sight of his own style and talent for spotting and recording, intimate and insignificant moments from the world around him.

Before moving to London, he produced his first collection of pure studio portraits featuring his friends from the music and art world.

Shot entirely in black and white, using simple lighting to capture the bare essentials of the character, he produced a series of striking images.

Clutching his new portfolio, Bleckmann crossed the Atlantic and found himself immediately snapped up by the fashion world and successfully transferred his portraiture style into high profile menswear campaigns for leading brands and magazines.

15 years later, Bleckmann remains devoted to his first passion of portraits and street photography.
